During my time as a remote teacher in 2021 I created a virtual learning website aimed at providing resources for middle school visual art classes including video demonstrations, daily agenda graphics, and step by step art instructions. This allowed me to develop my craft in creating digital graphics that are able to connect to others. It also allowed me to become skilled in editing, recording, and creating visual demonstrations. Lastly, I was able to empathize with my learners throughout their online journey by getting valuable feedback on what works for their individual development.
My Virtual learning Website was designed to give learners access to a space where they can get the information they need easily whenever they need it to be able to be successful during and outside of class time. They will be able to use the website to find what assignment we are working on along with instructions provided to complete the assignment. This provides the user a way to overcome not knowing what we are working on in class and allows them to access instructions outside of class.
* My website will allow users to find assignments
* My website will provide daily agenda graphics
* My website will include instructional demonstrations, photographs, and videos
* My website will be able to work with Google Classroom, Slides, and Sites to enhance learning
Targets:
-Learners: Middle School Visual Art Students both in Art 1 & Advanced Art
-Parents: Parents of learners who need a place to check on what assignments are due and when also provide an area for parents to access applications like Artsonia & Google Classroom
-Administration: Administrators can clearly communicate parent/ student expectations from assignments
Goals:
1. Provide access to assignments.
2. Connect learners with multiple resources to succeed.
3. Promote online learning options such as Artsonia
4. Promote learner interest in Visual Arts
As a final project, learners created Art Portfolio's displaying all of the art they created throughout the year using Google Sites. I was able to guide them through creating their own websites using images they have taken of their own artwork by setting clear expectations on google slides then providing them with online demonstrations.
